Three of AFMA were entered into the JNOC competition this year, Luca, Sophie G and Aspen. Sadly, Sophie had sustained another shoulder injury and was unable to compete.
The event was held at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall in Shropshire. It a fantastic resource with sports halls and pitches to die for. This year AGB had made it the biggest event ever with 91 targets spread out across 2 football pitches with nearly 300 entrants from all over the UK.
The Saturday dawned bright and breezy with pretty hefty gusts especially on Luca’s field. There was a great atmosphere across the ground and it was fantastic to see so many young archers across the ages. It was metric day, Luca shot a Metric I (70m,60m,50m,30m) comi…

On a hot, sunny Sunday in June (really there was one) a team from AFMA headed over to Whitehill for the PAWs shoot. The name is an acronym of the clubs involved…. Petersfield, us and Whitehill…..
The day started badly for some as David Green had a broken bow so sadly couldn’t bolster our numbers. However undeterred the intrepid AFMA team of Richard Ellis, Andrew and Adam Stickland, Ryan Selby, Dario Alexander, Catherine Fairlamb, Aspen Salisbury and Melissa Salisbury warmed up in the sweltering heat!!!
Our hosts were most genial supplying bacon rolls and as much tea and coffee as you could drink. The shooting commenced with the shooting of National and Western rounds depending on age and ability. Everyone was …

On Good Friday we held a fun shoot for our members.
Shooting in teams, on a beautiful sunny morning, we had a lovely time shooting on targets which were decorated by our members.
Phil's team of Catherine and Dario won on the day, with a mixed discipline of compound, recurve and longbow joining in.
The prize for best designed target was awarded to Michelle for her Mad Hatter target.

In commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the Battle Of Agincourt, Alton and Four Mark Archery club held a special fun shoot for its members .
One of our members, Michelle made the targets for us, depicting some of the French nobility who died at Agincourt and some heads to kill. Mead was drunk (by the adults) and the sun shone on us for the morning.
We had a fancy dress competition entered by juniors, which was won by Sophie, with Aspen in second place.
Everyone shot either bare bow or longbow, which was an unusual technique for many of our club and one which tested our members giving everyone an equal chance of glory on the battlefield!
Thanks to Michelle, we had a wonderful shoot, with lots of glory! A…
