A hot, sunny Sunday in Whitehill - PAWS shoot
- by Melissa Salisbury
On a hot, sunny Sunday in June (really there was one) a team from AFMA headed over to Whitehill for the PAWs shoot. The name is an acronym of the clubs involved…. Petersfield, us and Whitehill…..
The day started badly for some as David Green had a broken bow so sadly couldn’t bolster our numbers. However undeterred the intrepid AFMA team of Richard Ellis, Andrew and Adam Stickland, Ryan Selby, Dario Alexander, Catherine Fairlamb, Aspen Salisbury and Melissa Salisbury warmed up in the sweltering heat!!!
Our hosts were most genial supplying bacon rolls and as much tea and coffee as you could drink. The shooting commenced with the shooting of National and Western rounds depending on age and ability. Everyone was friendly and the sun continued to shine.
The day concluded in some good rounds for some, and some competition experience for others. Unfortunately, we hadn’t done enough to retain the trophy but there were notable performances from Aspen, Catherine and Ryan.
It was a fun day of shooting and please try and join the team in these local competition shoots as all are welcome, the next one is the FWAG on the 14 th August.
