Alton & Four Marks Archers

Agincourt Fun Shoot

- by Catherine Fairlamb

In commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the Battle Of Agincourt, Alton and Four Mark Archery club held a special fun shoot for its members .

The French attacking in force.

One of our members, Michelle made the targets for us, depicting some of the French nobility who died at Agincourt and some heads to kill. Mead was drunk (by the adults) and the sun shone on us for the morning.

We had a fancy dress competition entered by juniors, which was won by Sophie, with Aspen in second place.

Our members who came dressed for the occasion

Everyone shot either bare bow or longbow, which was an unusual technique for many of our club and one which tested our members giving everyone an equal chance of glory on the battlefield!

The Count of Fauquembergue

Thanks to Michelle, we had a wonderful shoot, with lots of glory! A couple of our members proved very good at shooing heads, which should a zombie apocalypse happen, could be useful to remember.
