Frostbite Championship

Perfect shooting conditions for our frostbite championships yesterday; sunny with only a little wind. Great to have visiting archers from Exeter University along with us. Thanks to our field captain/judge Alan Hughes and to everyone who shot and helped out. Congratulations to all who won medals and colour prizes;

Alton Sports Centre; Important Consultation Meeting with ATC

The following meeting is open to all members of AFMA as we are affiliated with the Alton & District Sports Council. I would encourage you to attend if you can to put across your point of view of the sporting facilities required for Alton & District residents.

Cllr Dean Phillips will be briefing ADSC the day after he has briefed the full Town Council. The Briefing, will be starting at 7.30pm on Friday 24th February 2017. The venue is the Chawton Park Indoor Bowls Club. This is not an open meeting, only members who have already paid, or those who are paying on the night (£10 annual subscription) are invited. Alton & District Sports Council - Grants

To anyone interested in taking their archery skills as far as they can go - but need a little help to do so - the Alton & District Sports Council have grants available to help achieve financially with achieving this.

To quote their documentation:

"Alton & District Sports Council aims to award grants to clubs and individuals within the Alton area to enable them to develop their sport. The Sports Council has grants/donations already approved by East Hampshire District Council, Alton Town, some parish councils and businesses/individuals for this purpose.

Our Exciting New Winter Shoot,

THE CHILLY WILLY!!!

Sunday, January 15th 22nd, Four Marks Recreation Ground

The shoot is made up of 2 Frost bite shoots- 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon

Set up at 10.30 am, sighters 11.00

There will be the following awards:

  • Morning winner – Junior/ senior medals only
  • Afternoon Winner – junior/ senior medals only
  • Overall Winner – junior/ seniors trophies and medals

All Winners will be announced at end of the shoot.

Between the two rounds there will be a break of 40 minutes for lunch with hot drinks.

We will have hot chocolate, tea, coffee and squash available for a small charge per drink/ honesty box.
